Draft 2 P/S with Sources

Today you help each other with citation details. Each person reads two drafts and fills out a comment sheet.

Also, upload your paper into TurnItIn. There you want to check your similarity percentage.  Try to keep quotes at less than 10% of the paper, or discuss them with me.

Homework:

1.  Have your daybook ready to turn in tomorrow.  Include TWO bright yellow handouts:

1. The Database worksheet and
2. The "Til Death Do Us Part" Reading.
There will be no late daybooks accepted.
2.  Tomorrow we will watch Mike Rowe, talk about it, and you will get the prompt for Short Essay #5.

3.  No word.

Timed In-Class Essay

You have 45 minutes to write (blue book) or type your short essay response to the prompt I hand out today.

Pay close attention to what the prompt asks you to do.

You may use your copy of "Always Go to the Funeral" as well as a dictionary or online sources.

Homework:

1.  Draft 2 of Problem/Solution with Sources is due.  You must have a Works Cited page started to get credit for this draft.  Also, get your in-text citations in order, so we can clear up any questions.

2.  No word.

Using EasyBib

I return your Clichés Essay.  We discuss scores and tomorrow's essay.  Bluebooks?

Tomorrow you will do a VERY similar essay to the cliché essay. Pay attention to what the prompt asks you to do.

I show you how to use EasyBib (found at the library page on The Hub, or the link to the left here).  Register and begin inputting your sources.

Homework:

1.  Review the short essay "Always Go to the Funeral" for tomorrow.  Bring a bluebook to class if you wish to handwrite your essay. Otherwise you will type for 45 minutes (or until you are done) and print.

2.  No word.
