Now, read "It's Not Just a Bike" by Lacey Taylor in The Bedford Guide on pages 188-189.

Answer the questions on the handout in your daybook.  Be thorough!

Homework:

1.  Finish this daybook exercise.

2.  Work on your Problem/Solution essay. You all need to revise; today's handout should give you ideas. Draft 1 must be typed and uploaded in Moodle on Monday, and Draft 2 is due on Tuesday.

3.  no TWFTD.

Draft #1 Problem/Solution

We discuss commas again, and you do Ex. 38.7 page 99.  All the legitimate commas in this exercise exist because of Rules 1, 2 and 4 from Tuesday. You must find and remove any commas that are unnecessary.

Then you prepare your drafts, exchange, read, and comment on two drafts.

NOTE:  Your job is to help the writers decide whether their problem/solution IS WORKABLE!  Help each other;  if you think someone should choose a different topic, SAY SO.

Homework:

1.  If your draft is not typed,  get it typed by Monday, so that you can upload it in Moodle on Monday; Draft 2 is due on Tuesday.

2.  TWFTD: insomnia in OED.

Drafting Your Paper

Grammar:  do the "Drowning Doesn't Look Like Drowning" handout.
