Using Turnitin

I return the Summary/ Evaluation/ Response paper.

Next week on Tuesday you will be writing the In-Class Assessment Essay. You can see information about it in Moodle if you want to do the reading over the weekend. Otherwise, there will be time in class Monday to read the essay.

Here's the link to the reading for Tuesday's In-Class Essay: "Seeking" by Emily Joffe.

Today you use Turnitin and the time to improve your draft.

Resubmit it in Moodle in Part 2, and I will type feedback in for you.

The Final Version is due Monday.

Your daybooks are also due Monday.

Draft #2 Problem/ Solution Due

Thinkwrite:

What about Wikipedia? According to yesterday's prezi, does it pass the CRAAP Test? Do you agree with that assessment?

Fill out the Writer's Page.

Return to the same groups you shared outlines with. Now exchange papers.

Also, upload the efile of your paper to Moodle (Turnitin). Please spread out the times you upload, to see if that improves our success rate.

Homework:

1. The final version of this paper is due on Monday. Tomorrow there will be class time for improving your draft. Pay special attention to the evidence you are using, and how you present it. If the information comes from a source, cite it the best way you know how. You will NOT be graded on MLA details, but you CANNOT plagiarize (using sources without citing them).

2. TWFTD: your choice of a word related to your problem paper.

Clear Thinking

Groups will read and discuss what you have for today. If you have nothing written, you will still participate by talking about your problem/ solution.

You will gather in groups of three or four. One person is the "writer," one person is the "leader," and one person is the "scribe."

The writer will read his outline to the group. He may also explain points as he goes and talk about what he is thinking for the full paper.

The leader will read the questions to the group and lead discussion.

The scribe will write down the group's ANSWERS to the questions in HIS daybook.

You will rotate and everyone will take the next role. Writers should note down useful suggestions from the group on their outline.

Written evidence from today's class will be answers in the daybook and notes on your outline.

Homework:

1. Read pages 40-43 in The Bedford Guide.

2. On Thursday a full, typed draft of this paper is due.

3. TWFTD: anecdotal in OED. AND anecdote in OED.
