We look at consumerism in the OED.

You have annotated?

Analyze the argument.  Who's making an argument?  What kind of evidence is being provided? Does it in fact support the point? Question EVERYTHING.

Groups:  What is the point of the article?  Write it across the top of your copy of the article. What evidence is used? Compare and add to your annotations.

Now answer the questions on this handout about your chosen article.  Which questions would have objective answers?  Which subjective? You can see which would lead to summary and which to analysis.  You may work together if you wish.

Homework:

1.  Finish the handout, and begin writing your first draft, due Friday.  For Friday, you should have BOTH some summary and some analysis in your draft. If you quote from the article, keep it to only part of a sentence.
