Writing About a Problem

I pass out the assignment sheet.

Now you look at an example. We look at page190-191 in Bedford.

How well does this essay meet my assignment? You score the essay.

In your daybook, copy down these categories with a number for each. EXPLAIN the number you have given:

Beginning-
Problem-
Solution-
Conclusion-

We discuss.

Now you will answer the following questions in your daybook, due Monday.

1. What is the general topic you would like to write about?

2. Write out a statement of the specific problem you would like to see solved.

3. List as many causes of this specific problem as you can think of, including guesses. You may write down questions here, as well, if you're not sure of connections.

4. List any solutions that come to mind that would have an impact on these causes (and the problem).

When you finish this, start looking for information to help you with both parts of this. Keep track of any sources you use.

Begin writing Draft #1 due Tuesday.
