Spelling

Lego papers returned. Keep the stapled portion in your portfolio.

You turn in your Language Use in Kickstarter assignment.

Thinkwrite:  Doublespeak and jargon are negative uses of language. Why do we sometimes choose language that hides or distorts the true message? Do you have any experience of this?

Now, on to figurative language:  Why English Teachers Die Young. Note that snopes.com is the place to find out the truth of some internet oddities.

Take the handout and copy down your two favorite "lame analogies" in your daybook.

How important is spelling? http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-30642759

What about spellcheck?  Everyday Writer Sec. 23.  Ex. 23.8. Let's test your eyes, your typing, and MS Word. Type it up with corrections and print. Save it in your daybook.

Thanks, memebase.com

Then hand write Ex. 23.9 into your daybook. Number 1 to 13 and only write the correct word down. [Number the blanks in your book to keep them straight.]

Homework:

1. Be working on your Kickstarter On Paper -- remember to have a page of notes done in your daybook. Tomorrow there will be time during class to work on it.

2. TWFTD: mangle OR havoc, you choose.
